There is no fixed mileage interval for brake pad replacement that applies to all vehicles, as wear rates vary depending on driving habits, road conditions, and vehicle type. In general, brake pads typically last around 30,000–50,000 km. However, if you frequently drive in urban traffic or brake often, they may wear out much faster.

Once brake pads are worn beyond their limit, the metal backing plate can come into direct contact with the brake disc (rotor), causing severe damage. At that point, you may need to replace not only the brake pads but also the brake discs, resulting in repair costs that can be several times higher.

Brake pads are not about lasting as long as possible—the earlier wear is detected, the more you can save on repairs. It is recommended to check brake pad thickness during every vehicle service or every 10,000 km.
