How Often Should You Change Brake Fluid? The Consequences of Neglect Are Shocking!

Do you know brake fluid isn’t permanent? If you don’t change it for a long time, braking response will slow down, and it may even fail!
Why replace it❓
Moisture absorption: Brake fluid absorbs water, which reduces braking performance.
High-temperature bubbles: Under high heat, brake fluid can form bubbles, increasing the risk of brake failure.
If you delay replacement too long, the brakes will become less responsive and may even corrode the brake lines!
When to replace❓
Generally, brake fluid should be replaced every 2 years or every 20,000–40,000 km, whichever comes first. If you often drive on mountain roads or in high-temperature environments, it’s recommended to replace it earlier!
How to check❓
Open the hood and check the brake fluid level — it should be between MAX and MIN marks, which is the normal range. If replacement is needed, the brake system must be bled, so it’s best to have a service center handle it.
